MDCP and CBA Waiver Programs to Renew - This is your chance to comment
Stakeholder Meeting Regarding Renewals of the Community Based Alternatives and Medically Dependent Children Program Waivers to be held Jan. 3, 2012 in Austin The Community Based Alternatives (CBA) and Medically Dependent Children Program (MDCP) waivers are scheduled for renewal by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on September 1, 2012. In preparation for the renewals, the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) will conduct a stakeholder meeting. DADS will share information about the waiver programs and solicit input on future changes to waivers. It is important to note that the CBA and MDCP waiver programs did not receive increased funding for additional waiver enrollment. Service limits imposed by the most recent legislative session will remain in the renewal application for both waiver programs. The agenda will include a short overview of the CBA and MDCP programs including new health and welfare performance measures as required by CMS. Attendees will have an opportunity to submit written comments and questions. No formal public testimony will be taken at this meeting. The stakeholder meeting will be held at the John H. Winters Complex, 701 West 51st Street, Austin, TX 78751 on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 during the following times: MDCP Waiver 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. & CBA Waiver 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Additional topics for discussion for CBA may be sent by December 20, 2011, to CBA@dads.state.tx.us and for MDCP at MDCP@dads.state.tx.us. An agenda and a copy of the current waiver applications will be available on the DADS website by December 14, 2011. If you are unable to attend, you may submit comments on the waiver renewals to the addresses noted above or by mail at the address below no later than January 23, 2012.
